Unless an assignment explicitly requires deliverables to be attached to an email,
it is recommended to avoid attachment.

Regarding technical writing in general,
and avoid the common mistakes when you write a technical document.

Typesetter LaTeX

LaTeX is the most commonly used tool for typesetting documents in fields of science & engineeting.

Regarding LaTeX, refer to Wikibooks on LaTeX/Formatting, and LaTeX Reference Manual. LaTeX typesetters are available as freeware on many platforms, e.g., proTeXt or TeX Live for Windows, MacTeX together with TeXShop for Mac OS X, TeXLive for Unix & Linux, and Kile in KDE environment on Linux.
