February 20, 1996: Lurana and Sean O'Malley (Honolulu, Hawai'i) hosted the fifth annual Mardi Gras Party. The annual question?

Tell Us About Your Dream House . . .

"A Victorian home with a book-lined library/study; a workout room complete with heavy punching bag; and a workroom full of power tools--occasionally frequented by beautiful women with beer."

--Aaron Anderson (then Honolulu, Hawai'i)

"Based upon mythic and spiritual geometry, the plan would be based off of my personal symbol. . . . The house would be built by me and my friends, have power from the sun, and everything recycled. There would be a room that you could totally trash any way you want for artistic creations. There would be a soundproof studio for music and a theatre for 20+. . . . The furniture would all be original and most of it would be built into the house. . . ."

--Robert Bell (then Honolulu, Hawai'i)

PERSONAL SYMBOL:

"Huge picture windows overlooking the warm Pacific ocean on one side, a cozy log style cabin in the woods/mountains on the other. . . .Lots of kitties and lots of big goofy dogs. A detached stable of warmbloods for beach/mountain rides with friends and loved ones."

--Jennifer Sakamoto (Honolulu, Hawai'i)

"Our dream home is where we can meditate in front of a large picture window, looking out at the setting sun, where our hearts and bodies are totally serene . . . ."

--Angela Niu-Anthony (Honolulu, Hawai'i)

"On the verge of a new chapter in this little girl's life, she is looking to venture on her own. . . . .A nice, clean, cute and secure place to call her very own."

--TanNa Young (currently New York, New York)

"The house is located on several acres of forested property. Behind the main house is a smaller two-bedroom guest house. . . . . A cat (or two) lazily stretches on the deck after an afternoon nap and then saunters into the garden house. He brushes against the drying herbs and a scent of dill and basil fills the breeze that blows past the front porch. The swinging chair sways gently from the brush of air. A golden retriever runs down the porch steps after something quick and elusive. Mark appears in the driveway. At the distance his gait is gladdened and Steph can tell he has had a prosperous day fishing on the pond. The fast slam of screen door in preceded by a slow creak of hinge as Steph goes into the house to bring Mark a cool glass of lemonade."

--Unsigned, but probably from Stephanie Curtis (later Conching) and Mark Conching (Honolulu, Hawai'i)
