Welcome! My name is Andrew Cheng (鄭) and I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Linguistics at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.
Previously, I did postdoctoral work at Simon Fraser University (with Dr. Henny Yeung) and at the University of California, Irvine (with Dr. Judith Kroll and Dr. Gregory Scontras). I received my PhD in Linguistics from the University of California, Berkeley, advised by Dr. Keith Johnson, and did my undergraduate work at Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania.
I've lived and worked in Philadelphia, PA; Grenoble, France; Taichung, Taiwan; Changwon, South Korea; Berkeley, CA; Los Angeles, CA; and Vancouver, BC. My current home is Honolulu, HI, on the ‘āina (land) of the Native Hawaiian people.
