Marine invertebrate zoology; coral reef polychaetes; brackish water
shrimp
My research projects emphasize benthic community ecology of sediment dwelling
invertebrates near sewage outfalls, community development on artificial
reefs and life history and population dynamics of brackish water shrimp.
Students have worked on a number of aspects of polychaete community structure
in reef habitats, brackish water shrimp, coral symbionts, coral recruitment
on artificial substrates, sediment infaunal composition near transplanted
corals, lobster feeding biology and pollution indicators. The applied nature
of some of these studies are important to management and conservation issues.
