LOOK HERE FOR ANNOUNCEMENTS
- (1/16/99) Welcome to Zoology 430L. We look forward to working
with you this semester.
- (2/6/98) There is a CD-ROM available at the ITS Computing
Mac and PC labs in Keller Hall. It is called the Virtual
Physiology CD-ROM. To use it, you must bring your
validated UH ID card to the front desk of either one of the labs
and ask to use it. It goes over many of the lab exercises that
we are currently doing in class. Those who are writing their
report on Lab 1B or 2 might find the tutorials on muscle and
heart physiology helpful; however it is not a source which can
be cited.
- (1/11/98) Last year many students inquired about graphing
computer programs to do their graphs with. Most of these programs
are very expensive and/or difficult to learn. There is a shareware
that generates simple (no colors or fancy graphics), but elegant
graphs and is extremely easy to learn. It is called MacCurveFit
1.1. One of the features that is so wonderful about this application
is that writing curvefits for this program is very easy, and
the curve fitting capability is powerful. As the title implies,
it is a Macintosh application. There is
no requirement to provide computer generated graphs for the reports.
However, some students have expressed the desire to do so. Also
students who do not have access to a computer should go to one
of the ITS Computing
Labs in Keller Hall. If the MacCurveFit application needs
more memory to run, highlight it (single click) and go to the
File command (menu bar on top left of screen). Drag the
menu down to Get Info, and increase the application size
to a larger size. DOWNLOAD
