Informed Pedagogy

Present education systems, including ESL/EFL, have fallen under criticism for being limited by narrowly defined methodologies and for not meeting the 21st century realities. Scholars have argued that language education practices need to break down long standing walls that have served to disassociate education from the exigiencies of everyday life by opening up the classroom to incorporate linguistic/cultural resources and experiences in the community. As teachers of ESL/EFL we need also to be concerned about issues related to culture, identity, and voice.

Here are some interesting links that I hope will frame a cross-disciplinary concept of learning and teaching.
