Turtle |
Turtles are reptiles
with a bony or leathery shell. Turtles come in many different sizes. Some
are as large as a smaller-sized car and others are only four inches long.
Most turtles are omnivores. That means they eat both plants and other
animals. They eat insects, snails, worms, minnows, and tadpoles, as well
as berries and aquatic plants. Turtles live in different habitats such
as ponds, rivers, and oceans, forests and grasslands. Some turtles even
live in deserts. They are cold-blooded animals, so most turtles are found
in warmer environments.
