Most
lizards are small and have four legs. They have a long tail that is fragile
and may easily be broken but can grow back. Lizards move in different
ways, such as swimming and climbing. Lizards are found in hot areas around
the world; some are found in cooler areas and none live in places that
are too cold. Some lizards live underground, some live in trees and some
spend time in the water. Not all lizards eat the same food. Most eat insects
and plants. Some bigger lizards eat reptiles and bird eggs as well as
small rodents, birds and mammals.
