Getting Technical Support and Software Downloads
As graduate students, you may need some technical support and a variety of software to complete computer-related assignments. In order to save time and money, you may want to try the following:
For technical support, bring specific problems, such as how to import digital pictures onto homepages, to the Technology Learning Center ( TLC, located on 1776 University Avenue, Wist 134, Honolulu, HI96822) or contact them at coetech@hawaii.edu . Students in the Department of Educational Administration can also call 956-3934 to schedule appointments or visit the Center's website at http://www2.hawaii.edu/tlc for technical help. The people at the desk area are very helpful even though they look very young.

Students can also get very quick responses to some technical problems by emailing Kenwrick Chan of the University of Hawaii Information Technology Services (ITS), at kchan@hawaii.edu or at help@hawaii.edu , or by calling 956-8883 or faxing 956-2108. You may also try visiting their help desk at Keller Hall, Room 103. From our experiences, they are great helpers as long as students bring a specific problem.

To get software downloads, you can browse websites which offer free or trial version software. For instance, we downloaded the software "McAfee Antivirus" from ITS by clicking on http://www.hawaii.edu/itslab. In fact, free games, utilities, clipart, multimedia, internet downloads, software-upgrades, learning resources, and trial versions are available on other websites for personal use. For your convenience, some addresses are listed below. Good Luck!
