Lawless leaps from ``Xena'' to ``X-Files''

HOLLYWOOD (Variety) - ``X'' still marks the spot for Lucy Lawless, whose
hit
series ``Xena: Warrior Princess'' ended its run this summer.

The actress has now signed on for a multi-episode gig on the upcoming
season
of ``The X-Files (news - Y! TV).'' She is set to appear on the show's
first
two episodes. There's a chance she could do more episodes, though
nothing's
been decided yet.

The show's season premiere is Nov. 4. Details regarding the Lawless
character
are being kept under wraps.

``We're thrilled to have an opportunity to work with Lucy, whose work
we've
admired for a long time,'' said ``X-Files'' executive producer Frank
Spotnitz.
``We think we've found an interesting and unexpected way to have her join
the
family.''

  Cool, the article by Tom Long (who I talked to about this story as well
as Xena) about female action heroes appeared finally in The Detroit News
today! :) Here it is:

  There are a few quotes from me, although again I think I sound like a
dork :) and he only used a handful of what I actually said. But, the
article is fairly lengthy, yay. It's even got a sidebar chronicling
various action stars over time, Xena included. Of course, there's also the
requisite quote from someone saying that this is a bad trend because it
means women are trying to be violent like men, blah blah. (Hmm, I don't
like that line that says I "agree" with the guy quoted b4 me, cuz I
don't.)
