In 1958, the Lung Kong Kung Shaw Society in Honolulu, Hawaii formed
a youth chapter that is now known as the Lung Kong Physical Culture
Club to attract younger members. Along with Kung-Fu classes that are held
every Tuesday and Friday nights, the youth chapter also learns and performs
the lion dance. The Youth Chapter is now under the direction of Sifu Lau
Yan Tak which teaches the martial arts style of Choy Lee Fut. Lung Kong
was formed by the four fore fathers of Lau, Qwon, Chong and Chu. In honor
of the
fathers, Lung Kong has a seperate color lion to represent each father. Lau being
the Gold lion, Qwon being Green, Chong is the Black, and Chu represented
with
the White lion. Lung Kong uses only one other color lion: the red lion, or Queen,
which is used for birthdays.
