The Association of Hawai'i Archivists is pleased to invite you to a special presentation by Nancy Zimmelman of the California State Archives on September 11, 2004. 

 

This is an expanded presentation Nancy made at the 2003 Annual Conference of the Society of American Archivists in Los Angeles as she will be discussing administration issues such as acquisition and access.

 

 

ˆ The location has changed due to scheduled power outages at UH. The event will now take place at the Hawaii Medical Library.   Parking should be available for free at a parking lot across the street.

The tentative schedule is as follows:

 

10-11a.m.      The case and the questions

11-11:15 a.m. Break

11:15-12      How the State Archives received the records

12-1:00 p.m. Lunch Break

12:45-2 p.m. Management and use of the collection and lessons others might learn

2-2:15 p.m.    Break

2:15-3:00     Results from Hawaii from the A*CENSUS survey.

There will also be a "meet-the-speaker" dinner at the Willows on September 10 at 6 pm.  A pavilion has been reserved for us in the general dining area.
