University of Hawai'i - LIS Program - Internship & Job Fair Committee
In 2004, the University of Hawai'i at Manoa Library & Information Science Program established an Internship & Job Fair Committee in order to match LIS students and alumni with professional positions in Hawaii and beyond. We held our first Internship & Job Fair that year, which was a success. Unfortunately, the LIS facility in Hamilton Library was flooded that October, so we have not hosted an Internship/ Job Fair since then. We may do so again once we are returned to our permanent quarters in Hamilton Library. In the meantime we have partnered with the UHM American Library Association Student Chapter to offer brownbag talks with visiting recruiters. Our most recent brownbag recruiters were Florence Yee and Tisha Arigaki from the Hawaii State Public Library System (shown to your left), and Josie Reyes of the Los Angeles County Public Library System. We have around 150 diverse, intelligent, hard-working students who are eager to learn about your library or archive. >>> If you simply want to e-mail your position description, so that we can send it to or LIS-JOB e-mail list, please send it to slis@hawaii.edu. >>> However, if you are a recruiter who will be in Hawaii, please e-mail Professor Andrew Wertheimer
