About the UHM Sierra Club

About Us

The UHM Sierra club meets every Thursday at 5:30 PM at the Awesome Energy House. Often we have hiking or other activities before our meetings and movie nights to follow. We are a small, diverse group of people passionate about sustainability and the environment and always love new company. There is no admission, no commitment, and we have fun. (We love fun!) Feel free to join us this or any Thursday!

Mission Statement of the Sierra Club

1)To explore, enjoy and protect the planet.

2)To practice and promote the responsible use of the earth's ecosystems and resources.

3)To educate and enlist humanity to protect and restore the quality of the natural and human environment

4)To use all lawful means to carry out those objectives.

In the Summer of 2006, the once existing Sierra Club-Student Group was reincarnated into the UHM Sierra Club. The club meets every Thursday at the Awesome Energy House at 5:30 PM thanks to the lovely Linda Day (our friend and advisor).
