About MPA

This past summer, the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa successfully trained a second cohort of Mānoa Peer Advisors (MPA). MPA is a prestigious and elite group of students trained to help their peers navigate college. It consists of a Summer Training Program and a year-round MPA Fellowship. The program is overseen by professional advisors and is spearheaded by trained undergraduate Peer Advisor Leaders (PALs).

Summer Training Program:  The Summer Training Program is the first step in becoming a Mānoa Peer Advisor.  this year it consisted of a four hour course of intensive training that develops knowledgeable, resourceful, and helpful advisors. The course spanned the duration of Summer Session 1.  Selected MPAs will continue into the year-round MPA Fellowship.

MPA Fellowship:  Currently, the MPA Fellowship provides $2000 each semester in reward for advising services to the university.  MPAs will assist their fellow students at advising offices or stations throughout the campus.  The fellowship provides regular updates and support throughout the academic year.
