Financial Support

More than 500 scholarships are available to students on the University of Hawai'i at Manoa campus. Some are administered system-wide through the UH financial aids office and are open to students of all majors.

Some are administered through the department of theatre and dance and directly relate to dance studies. Criteria vary, and include such things as: individuals of specific ethnic minority groups, study that focuses on Asia or the Pacific, students from local high schools, academic excellence, financial need, musical theatre specialization, and language study.

For scholarships directly relevant to dance majors see, for example:

Danny Kaleikini Kahala Hilton Hotel Scholarship
Watamull Scholarship for East Indian studies
Diamond Head Theatre’s Burnett/Selleck Scholarship.

For scholarship details fill in appropriate categories on the UH scholarship Web site.

A limited number of tuition waivers are available through the Department of Theatre and Dance. Full-time undergraduate students in good academic standing are eligible to apply. Waivers are normally for one academic year, subject to continued eligibility. Students must pay their own fees. Apply to the Director of Dance.
