** Sports Shorts **

Team Oahu won the Hawaii Lifeguard Challenge this past Saturday at Fort
DeRussy beach.  Composed of guards who work City and County stands at
Oahu's beaches, TO outscored runner-up Ft. DeRussy and third place Team
Kauai to win the title.  Competitors squared off in five events: 
1.2-mile ocean swim, paddleboard rescue, 2-mile individual paddleboard,
medley relay, and beach flags.

Australia's Mark Pederson won the men's open title and Aruba's Rebecca
Wolters the women's at the Da Kine Classic windsurfing competition on
Saturday at Kanaha Beach on Maui.

The Honolulu Hurricanes are 3-3 in the Professional Indoor Football League
after losing to Colorado, 42-34, last week.  The Hurricanes travel to the
mainland to take on Louisiana this Saturday.

For $100, wrestling enthusiasts can participate in a clinic conducted by
a world class coach and wrestlers.  The clinic will be held June 9-12 on
Maui.  Featured instructors will be two-time Olympian Dan Henderson, 1996
U.S. Olympic coach Bob Anderson, and four-time U.S. champ Randy Couture.
