Subject: Ka'au Crater Hike

It was our first time on this Hike, and it has to be one of my favorites. Three waterfalls (and not just trickles either) on the same Hike --Amazing-- I felt like I was on top of the world. When I reached the summit of the crater, the VIEW on the top was undescribable. It was too windy for Amy to try for the top so she sat on a nice grassy spot and filmed me on my journey to the summit. We had some strawberry quava along the way, and the way back down the waterfalls wasn't nearly as bad as we expected it to be.

I wouldn't recommend this hike to unexperienced hikers. Their was a lot of slippery rocks, muddy trails, and a lot of rope climbing to get to certain points. I would also recommend taking the bus or having someone drop you off. We came back from our hike to a nice surprise; the inevitable finally happened - our window was completely bashed in, no more cd player, and there's no use trying to use locks that are no longer there, but we were able to drive it back home. I guess that's a small price to pay for the scenic views and nice pictures along the way.

Safe Hiking To All,

Robert & Amy
