My name is Radonna Doughty, my current position in "Ladies Involved in Firearms Education" is President. We are a group of NRA certified firearms instructors who teach people in Hawaii basic firearm safety.

I started teaching three years ago when the National Rifle Association sent two instructors over to Hawaii to teach a womens only instructors course. The course was three days long and at the end we had form the club. L.I.F.E.

Four women became the core group and were elected to offices. We teach one class a month with about 25 students. Over the last three years we have taught 395 students and most of them have never shot a gun before.

We teach at Schofield Barracks and as guests of Schofield Rod and Gun Club. We have all taken other courses to become instructors in rifle and shotgun. I was able to take an counselors course and am able to teach others how to become NRA Basic Firearms Instructors.

This club takes up a lot of my time at least two hours a day. With a family that is a lot of time to spend on something other than them.

If you would like more information on what we teach and when let me know and I will send you an application.
