In any area imaged by instruments such as a scanner, or the SEM, objects will inevitably be heterogeneously represented by pixel color (or brightness). Other problems arise when vesicle walls are broken and end up inside vesicles themselves. These types of issues need to be corrected prior to initiating FOAMS runs.
