Articles Read
This time instead of reading articles I reflected and
decided what was to be done next as well on what I've done so far.
Week 4
Blanca Polo
SAFECOM has an advisory board. I must check those
members that seem to be the most related to my project. Here is the list.
During week
four, I decided which sites I was going to look for and during week five, I got
the links and added them to the page.
My thoughts: blank. :-)
What I want to look into for next week:
- Find links for the sites listed
- Explore the material found and reflect on it before
I go on, otherwise I will just pile up unread material.
- Create a matrix of technical requirements needed for the
project. The
first version of this will be directly taken out of the SAFECOM specs and it
will be modified as the project fits.
Notes Feb11 about things to be done not next
week but in the following weeks.
It is important to emphasize that different parts of the network are stored
"apart" and on one part by itself should be able to bring the network
up. The envisioned network should remain dormant and be up only during a limited
amount of time.
- Find out the current federal information processing standards
- Find more current SAFECOM PSWC&I statements of requirements (if amy)
- Find articles that support the my assumption that when people are together
with their loved ones they are more likely to put up with adversity and help
each other survive. Make sure that when stating this I will not make this
the central point of my research since still the point is to be able to
locate one another as soon as possible.
- Keep on trying to find out What is my academic
contribution? What is the research question? What focus am I trying to give
my dissertation? HCI or technology? THINK!!!!
- Find the developer sites for Motorola and
Nokia.
(sites found on
week 5)
- Keep in mind that I need to show that it can be done so I must begin
programming
- Look for Radio Group at SONY (week
5)
Time spent:
- searching: aprox. 1 hr.
- reading: 45 min
- writing: 35 min
previous week(3) -
next week (5)
