Group Assignment
Make an appointment for your group (2 - 4 students) to visit a public relations professional or group of public relations professionals at work in the "real world." Show up on time in professional attire. Be prepared to ask good questions. Then ask them if given the opportunity! Your group assignment after that is to present a short (5-minute) report to the rest of the class. As a group, you also will submit an outline of your presentation plan including the names of your group members. 

An “"A" presentation will include the following elements:

• Clear organization - evident in both your outline and your oral presentation
• Professional demeanor in presenting
• A brief description of who you visited and why
• Creativity and enthusiasm
• ANALYSIS - discussion of activities you observed that were consistent (or inconsistent) with what you learned in this class

Individual Assignment
On the day you present (before you begin), please hand in a one- or two-page, typed summary-and-response report. Use the first half of the paper to briefly describe the public relations operations you observed. Then the second part can be written in first-person to describe your reactions including what impressed you, what was consistent (and perhaps what was inconsistent) with what you have learned about public relations, and how the office visit may have affected your career planning. Please pay attention to writing and presentation style.
