Marine Life of Hawai'i
Tips for using this web site
This web site, by its very nature, is image-intensive. Many pages contain numerous images and hence may require a fair
amount of time to view completely. This arrangement is intentional in order to contrast similar species for comparison. Here
are a few tips you may wish to try to use this web site more effectively.
- If you are not interested in viewing all of the images on a page, interrupt the file loading after the text has been fully
loaded using the stop button on your browser. You may then load only selected images by right-clicking on them with
your mouse (I know this works in NetScape and Explorer) and loading or viewing the selected image.
- If you are interested in reviewing the material several times you may wish to use a cache viewer to review and/or save
certain pages. After you have explored the pages of interest, the text and images are stored on your disk in a cache
directory. There are several programs that will let you browse and/or save these files for viewing without an internet
connection (and the load time!). Two that I recommend are the MSIE Cache Explorer and Netscape Cache Explorer.
If course, don't forget that Marine Life of Hawai'i is constantly changing so check back often for updates and new
observations. Aloha!
