Steps to adding a new coral reef observation to our web site:

Suggestions on types of observations to enter:

• Should be on coral reefs from the Big Island
• Should be of general interest such as storm effects, recruitment events, unusual species or behavior, human damage, illegal activities etc.

Information to enter:

• District where reef is located (Hilo, Puna, Ka'u, Kona, Kohala or Hamakua)
• Specific location where observation was made (location, depth)
• Date and time of observation
• Complete description of what you observed (please be concise)

Until a form for data entry is available, observations must be entered as an e-mail message. Messages will be posted in the Reef Observations section within several days.
