Former Interns' Experiences

If you are here because you are interested in locating an internship that might lead you to the path of your future career, then this is the right web site for you.

Why internships?

Internships are structured, career-related learning experiences that allows students to test out their classroom knowledge in a work environment. Internships are an excellent way for you to assess your strengths and weaknesses as it relates to the work and whether or not this is the right career for you. Use an internship to assess a company's overall work environment, the type of work they do, the type of people who work there, the organizational structure and whether or not you could advance at the company. If these are your objectives for locating an internship, you are ready…

Facts you need to be aware of:

Most Internships are UNPAID as required by the "employing" agency following the guidelines set forth in the Fair Labor Standards Act. Some organizations choose to offer paid internships (either for insurance/liability reasons or their expectations of you as an intern are outside the guidelines of Federal Law for unpaid interns) and are required to hire you as a regular employee. The organization offering the internship determines whether or not an intern will be paid. However, in most cases, a regular paid job is NOT appropriate for an internship.
