With Brickwood Galuteria of KCCN FM100 and Lee Cataluna of NBC Hawaii News 8 presiding as Masters of Ceremonies, a total of 15 awards were presented to students by various industry professionals. [HULA: HOUSE OF I] In addition to their trophies, student winners also received over $2,500.00 in other prizes including those donated by Sony Hawai'i Company. Short documentary segments, produced by SVFA, were presented to the live and television audience throughout the evening explaining various issues including who the Student Video & Filmmakers' Association is, the purpose and significance of the Awards Ceremony, the future of the Hawai'i film and video industry, and the promise of the future in technology-based education.

The audience was also treated to performances by dancers from the hula halau, the "House of I" under Kumu Hula Leimomi Maldonaldo and accompanied by Anna Pung.
