Technology Plan

I really enjoyed creating a Technology Plan and learning about the various components that should be included to produce a comprehensive plan. This assignment made me aware of the cost of technology tools and software and how important it is to design a floor plan that will allow students complete access to a media center within the classroom for collaboration, media production, and presentation. I worked with a great partner who came into this assignment with a wealth of knowledge in the area of technology. Upon completion of this assignment, I've learned that there are a lot of technology tools, equipment, hardware, and software that can enhance the learning envrionment, and it is my responsibility as an educator to review the performance of the technology to find which programs and equipment will best enhance the learning and allow for technological growth.

This assignment made me realize that when creating a PowerPoint presentation, the developer need to create the PowerPoint from a viewer's perspective. That is, taking into consideration the font, font size, color, and background of each slide so that it is pleasing to the eye, easy to read and understand, and easy to navigate. I had fun designing my slides to match the theme of my lesson. I had a lot of important comments and professional critiques from my peers concerning my PowerPoint which help me revise my PowerPoint so that the content, the standards, and the technology were simple, to the point, consistent, and relevant.

Electronic Portfolio

The Electronic Portfolio assignment was a challenge for me. We were suppose to use Mozilla to create our portfolio however, I had difficulties downloading the program. I created my ePortfolio using Dreamweaver which I recently learned how to use. As mentioned in my Lesson Plan reflection, I created my ePortfolio from a viewers perspective. For starters, I learned that keeping the background color neutral and the font style easy to read with a font color that is not a distraction when reading the content of the profolio. Using tables to create text and inserting graphics was an easy way to manipulate the format. I've learned a little bit more about Dreamweaver from this assignment and I also learned a lot going through the process in creating an ePortfolio. This assignment was a great learning experience.
