After serving as a SHINE tutor
for one semester, students may then:
BECOME A SHINE COORDINATOR!

You could earn up to $10/hour,
or work-study $ (depending on campus and eligibility requirements).

Stay involved through a different
course! Lots of different courses offer SHINE on campus. Even if
your professors next semester don't initially offer SHINE, we may
be able to work something out with them.

Leadership and/or continued
commitment to SHINE looks great on a resume.

The SHINE Program Manager can
become one of your references when you apply for jobs - if you've
done well as a coordinator.

Your can earn a Presedential
Service Award from the White House for continuing with SHINE (www.presidentialserviceawards.gov).
Qualifications

Experience as a SHINE tutor

Strong communication skills

Punctuality, dependability

Ability to follow instructions,
attentiveness

Working knowledge of Excel,
PowerPoint, Word and Internet skills

Ability to take initiative
without being asked (ability to "pitch in")
