Important Notice!

The first time you log in to Blackboard.com, you must go to the course section titled "User Tools" and change your password from your social security number to a password of your choice that you will remember.
Write this password down and do not forget it.

Afterwards, please go to the section titled "Course Information" and read all of the course information, the course syllabus, and the additional course documents. Please read all materials carefully and thoroughly. All attachments are downloadable and printable on your home pc or on computer lab pcs as MS Word documents (.doc) or PDF files (.pdf).

After you have read through all of the course documents, please go to the section titled "User Tools". From there you can change your personal information, send emails to the class, use the discussion board to talk about course issues with the teacher and other class members, and check your grades. Take some time to become familiar with each of these features because we will use each of them all semester beginning this week.

COURSE INFORMATION

ELI 100 is a 3-credit academic writing course for non-native speakers of English. It is equivalent in requirements and credits to ENG 100, writing for native speakers of English.

This section (2) is conducted in the classroom. However, the following material is provided online for your convenience. This web site contains all information and handouts from the course. The things that are not included in this web site are lectures, discussions, and in the interactions with classmates and the instructor, aspects of the course that must be experienced in class.
