Why is it important for people to have basic civil rights?

I think all people should be treated equally.  Some countries have civil rights like America, but some other countries like North Korea do not have such rights.  Civil right that one of them we have rights is the most important basic rights without dividing sex, age and even rich or poor.  Therefore we should know why civil rights are important for our lives.

Civil rights make us equal and protect us from wrongdoing by others.  Rights also help us to live safely. If we do not have civil rights, when we suffer from crimes and injuries, we could not take action legally.  Civil rights create a harmonious society.  According to American history, there were many slaves.  They did not have any rights such as rights.  Some people treated them like animals, but people are not animals.  They lived miserable lives under the control of their owners.  Now, no one may harm anyone without cause and no one may take away personal property without cause.  Also, no one can damage another’s personal properties or real properties without cause.  Therefore, we must respect everyone’s thoughts and actions.

In conclusion, civil rights are the most important thing for people to have.  It is only natural that we should have rights for peaceful lives and for treatment as equal human.
