| SEASSA Home > The Southeast Asian Studies Student Association |
Founded in the fall of 1996 on the campus of the University of Hawaii at Manoa, the principal mission of the Southeast Asian Studies Student Association (SEASSA) is to foster a sense of community among both graduate and undergraduate students of the region which today constitutes Southeast Asia. It is our belief that communication and interaction between students involved in disciplinary and interdisciplinary programs is critical, in conjunction with a strong academic program, to producing both a challenging and rewarding educational experience.
In pursuit of the above objectives, the Southeast Asian Studies Student Association functions as an organizational hub from which students of Southeast Asia from throughout the University of Hawaii at Manoa campus design, organize, and participate in activities and productions such as the Center for Southeast Asian Studies' Brown Bag Lecture Series and SEASSA's bi-annual journal Explorations in Southeast Asian Studies.
Membership is open to all students of the University of Hawaii interested in the study of Southeast Asia. Come and join us won't you?
