My topic is Electronic Commerce, also known as E-Commerce. It is best described as online shopping. What I didn't realize is that there are three categories of online shopping: Business to Consumer, Consumer to Consumer, and Business to Business. Business to consumer is when companies sell goods to the public. One example would be Amazon. Consumer to consumer is when one person sells an item/product to another person. An example would be Ebay. Business to business is when a company provides goods and services to another company. For example, Costco provides supplies to be ordered online to a small business.

This technology relates to me in a way that it has become a necessity for birthday presents and gifts. Living in Hawaii, we are limited to the things that are available to us. Other people purchase items for their stores that they think we might like and sometimes they run out of stock. Thankfully, we have the use of the Internet for online shopping. It enables us to surf the web for stores and products that we want and need.

I use this technology mostly for Christmas shopping. There is without a doubt a wide variety of choices and goods available online. To help ease the Christmas stress of long lines, crowded malls, and no parking, I shop online. There are more variety and less headache of whether an item is in stock.
