Research Philosophy

To accomplish great things we must first dream, then visualize, then plan... believe... act!

-Alfred A. Montapert

To dream is to move into the realms of the unknown, to step into where no one has gone before … research with it's boundless reach promises all this and more.

My current research is focused on assessing the impact of ecosystem degradation such as invasive species invasion and groundwater pumping on hydrological processes in Island ecosystem at different spatial and temporal scale. My specific research area includes:

• Real-time monitoring of water balance component for resource optimization

• Understanding the impact of human disturbance on hydrological processes and soil erosion

• Developing better understanding of different rainwater pathways and assessing their spatial and temporal stability

• Evaluating the impact of different management practices and human dimensions on ecosystem using watershed modeling approach

• Use of GIS for natural resource management and evaluation

• Measurement and geospatial analysis of soil physical properties
