In the mid-1990s, I served on a committee to review vendor proposals for the Hawaii State Public Library System's next library automation system. The non-selected vendor filed a protest. I was subpoenaed to testify at an administrative hearing about my involvement in the process.

At this hearing, the presiding officer accepted me as an expert witness in the field of library automation.

(This, by the way, is not meant to be taken seriously as an entry on my curriculum vitae. All I had to do was demonstrate training and experience in the field.)
