This is the same picture as in the previous slide, but now oriented differently. The same sensation, that is, the same pattern of dark and light, now is easier to perceive. This change in perception with a change in orientation illustrates the interactive nature of perception. Past experience with other pictures changed your mind and allowed you to use that information in interaction with this picture to form a percept.
