Perkins IV

Overview

The U.S. Congress overwhelmingly passed legislation that reauthorizes Carl D. Perkins funding in support of states' Career and Technical Education efforts. President Bush signed the bill into law, the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Improvement Act of 2006 (which will be often referred to as "Perkins IV"), on August 12, 2006.

 

Kim Green, Executive Director of the National Association of State Directors of Career and Technical Education Consortium, recently conducted a one-day workshop at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. During this workshop, Kim Green explained the new law and provided an environment for imagining and seeking the opportunities that the Perkins Reauthorization presents.
