04/15/09 - Bake Sale a Resounding Success! HONOLULU, Hawaii (UHM) - The UH Chapter of PRSSA on Tuesday, April 7 held its bake sale on the grassy lawn between Crawford and Hawai`i Hall.  The bake sale, which had an Easter theme, included such items as white-chocolate macadamia nut cookies, "cookie-brownies," rice krispie treats, spam musubi, butter mochi, oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and cranberry chocolate chip cookies.  The chapter raised more than $450! A photographer from the school’s newspaper, Ka Leo, also dropped by and snapped a photo, which was was posted in the campus paper the following day. It was a hot day, but everyone was in high spirits!  Professors bought treats for their kids and colleagues, whilst students dropped by for snacks on the way to their classes. Money raised from the bake sale was used for the National Assembly trip.  UH PRSSA sent several members and was thrilled to assist with their expenses. 11/06/08 - Bone Marrow Drive a Smash Success! HONOLULU, Hawaii (UHM) - A recent bone marrow drive is being called "a huge success" by event organizers. Over 260 new donors registered during Thursday's drive, which was called to help find a match for a young woman named Krissy, in need of a suitable donor. In a concerted effort to help register new bone marrow donors, Blood Bank Hawaii worked with UH PRSSA and many other volunteers to help get out the word and get students to register at Campus Center. Promotion of the event was apparently quite good. Several local news outlets, including KGMB9 and KHNL News 8, two local news stations, which ran the story during their 5 and 6 pm news. Sunday's Honolulu Advertiser and the Ka Leo campus newspaper also ran the story. 08/24/08 - UH PRSSA Pressing New T-Shirts HONOLULU, Hawaii (UHM) - The UH Manoa chapter of PRSSA has just unveiled custom t-shirts. HONOLULU, Hawaii (UHM) - The "UH Communicators" (the UH PRSSA team) has finished in second place for the Relay For Life fundraiser with more than $2466 raised for cancer research. 03/05/08 - Relay For Life a Tremendous Success HONOLULU, Hawaii (UHM) - Our humble chapter of PRSSA has raised cash in excess of $1400 for the American Cancer Society.
