Being admitted to the profession of veterinary medicine, I solemnly swear to use my scientific knowledge and skills for the benefit of society through the protection of animal health, the relief of animal suffering, the conservation of livestock resources, the promotion of public health and the advancement of medical knowledge.
Who can join?   Anyone who is a student of UH Manoa can join the pre-vet club. It doesn't matter what your major is, we only ask that you have a passion for animals and helping them.
What do I have to do to be a member? How to obtain active membership status is found in the Members section.
How often does the Pre-Vet Club meet? We have monthly general meetings to announce upcoming events, have a guest speaker talk about their specialty, get to know one another, and eat food.
What do I gain by joining the Pre-Vet Club? We love providing hands-on experience that can teach you about various aspects of the field. Community service and fundraising opportunities are also an important part of PVC. You have the opportunity to talk to veterinarians and other people in the veterinary field, gain insight into the field, and meet new friends with the same interests and goals as you.
What kind of events and activities are there? We do community service by volunteering at the Pet Expo and HVMA Conference, helping HICatFriends trap and spay/neuter feral cats, and many more opportunities. We love providing hands-on opportunities for our members including pig handling, sheep shearing, horse anatomy, and wild bird care.
What do I do if I have suggestions for events or socials? We are always excited to hear our members' suggestions for events. You can email them to us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
