Based on what I learned in my Digital Imaging class: Abstract art is exclusively about the characteristics of the subject. Abstract art focuses on what the subject is composed of: the form. By focusing only on the shape, texture, and color, and excluding the subject and content (ex. apple, sweet), you reveal the character of the subject. My experience with this abstract project put things in a different perspective; art is not only about the subject but how the artist chooses to define the characteristics. |
