| So, what should I tell you on my website?
I am a graduate student at the University of Hawaii; I seek a Master's degree in Anthropology, and I have a special interest in medical anthropology.
I come from Vermont, where I grew up on a dairy farm. I have an undergraduate degree in anthropology. In 1989, I lived for a year on the Navajo Reservation. Native American studies has been somewhat of a focus for me. I am a registered nurse, and I have worked in hospitals, clinics, as well as a homeless healthcare clinic.
It's been a long time since I have concentrated primarily on academic pursuits. I plan to bring life experience into my work, and try to bring what I have learned into my research.
My interests include medical care delivery, and how art, music, and spirituality are integrated with concepts of health and wellness. I am also drawn to language and discourse. What I have learned about western medicine I have come to know through my experience in nursing. natrually, i am interested in the personalities who play parallel roles in other cultures: the caretakers, the technicians, the interpreters, the advocates.
