[Back] Ol' Whitebrow's Rosemary Pirate BreadNow first of all, ye probably be needin to plunder the following ingredients from a nearby supermarket. If ye enjoy going on pantry raids, then by all means attack neighbors on all sides. 2 tbsp. Butter Arr, the fun part. There be one special ingredient wes be needin: rosemary. Unfourtunately the best rosemary be comin from small herb gardens, the kind ye be findin in yer neighbor's backyard. Whats a pirate to do? Yaarrr, the best part of this recipe is that it requires ye to plunder from yon unsuspecting neighbors. 1/3 Pound of Rosemary. Yar, a pirates best friend it be. Once yeve procured it, ye be needin to clean all of it well. Lightly chop 1 cup, and dice/crush another 1 cup. Rosemary Mix We be needing razor sharp tools of the trade to be getting this job done. Bread loaf pans, preferably metal Before ye begin, preheat yer oven. 300 degrees ought to do nicely. Begin boiling a pot or saucepan filled with water. First ye be needin to dust a large surface with flour. A large bread board can be nice, but the back side of a swab will be servin ye just fine. While yer at it, grease up the bread loaf pans. Slowly add flour with wooden spoon or leg until the mixture be of a doughy consistency. Remove, place on yer well-floured surface, and knead it like a flagon of whiskey. Yar har har, get it? If ye be using rapid rise yeast, then be letting the dough rest for 10 minutes on yer lightly floured surface. Place dough inside yer lightly greased baking pan, and turn over, to grease both sides of the bread. Place inside warm oven. Different breads need different times to rise. Knowing how bread will rise, and how much is too much… Lets just say it be beyond a pirates intelligence. Were going to wing it. Let it rise to about double its original size. This could take anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours. Or 6 hours. Have a swab watch the bread for ye. Once its done rising, beat egg and water together. Slather mixture over your bread. Coat in your 1/3 cup of lightly chopped rosemary. Bake at 400 degrees farenheit for about 22-27 minutes. Remove from pan and let cool. Chop with sabre, coat with butter, and enjoy. [Back] |
