Plantation's Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant has a 15.0MGD capacity. Its treated effluent is discharged underground into the geological formation "Boulder Zone" at a depth of 3500 feet. Methane gas from the plant's treated sludge is scrubbed and compressed and supplies the fuel for the wastewater plant's electric generator.
