Water for the Third Millennium
- Madeira for 1999 EDS Conference
- The next EDS meeting will be held in
March 1999 on the island of Madeira,
with the collaboration of the International
Water Supply Association and other
societies.
- This Portuguese Island lies about 600
miles south-west off the European coast.
Capital is Funchal and the population is
251,000, It is easily accessible with
direct flights from a number of European
airports. We are organizing special group
Tariffs with TAP for flights from London,
Amsterdam, Brussels, Madrid, Zurich,
and Paris. Also special prices are being
arranged with a number of hotels on the
Island. The meeting will be held at the
Madeira Tecnopolo Park. The
International Conference and Exhibition
Centre is within the complex of the new
Science and Technology Park.

Water Production
- September 23-26, 1998 Amsterdam, The
Netherlands
- (In conjunction with the Aquiatech
Exhibit) Sponsored by the International
Water Supply Association, EDS, and the
American Water Works Association.
- Topics will cover the treatment of ground
water, river and lake water, seawater,
filter backwash water, industrial and
domestic waste water, with membrane
processes, i.e. diverse osmosis,
nanofiltration, ultrafiltration, microfiltration
and electrodialysis.
