Support Group for
Information Architecture (SGIA) is the first student-based community fostering
student growth, education, research, and practical experience in the field of
information architecture at the University
of Hawaii at Manoa.
SGIA is the first
organization of its kind at the University to support students in the fields of
library and information
science and information
and computer science, as well as other related academic disciplines,
who are truly interested in organizing complex information systems.
What makes SGIA
unique and of interest to you is the fact that you can apply your unique skill
sets as a student to real-world problems. SGIA focuses on building better Web
sites, placing users at the heart of the design process.
SGIA is also about
teamwork and collaboration, extending your effectiveness as an individual through
a team-based environment. SGIA is also about moving theory into practice, applying
academic theories and critical thinking skills to problem solving and real-world
scenarios.
If you'd like to
explore the field of information architecture, build an attractive portfolio,
gain more client-developer experience, or to simply meet great minds aside from
yourself, SGIA invites you to ignite your mind and to represent your field of
study at SGIA's First Meeting. More...
