What's New
I have found power in the mysteries of thought,
exaltation in the changing of the Muses;
I have been versed in the reasonings of men;
but Fate is stronger than anything I have known.

August, 2006

Monday, August 28, 2006 - Just a quick update for you guys. Mahoromatic Season 2 completed. Man was that weird... 6:38 PM update: Finished Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A's. Freakin' AWESOME.

Saturday, August 26, 2006 - Hi guys. I guess y'all have been wondering where I've been. Well, I'll try to keep it relatively short. I was having some digestive system problems early last month, and that resulted in me suffering a whole bunch of anxiety. The anxiety did a number to my physical and mental health - at one point I could not sleep nor eat or drink. I had the digestive system problems checked out, and I came to learn that I have chronic inflammation of the esophagus and stomach lining. In short, I've been eating too "hard", but it's nothing serious, just gotta take a pill to heal that up. However, while I've been suffering this anxiety and whatnot, I've developed other symptoms - slight numbness on the right side of my body along with hearing and vision loss on the right side with random and short headaches also. I also get occasional tremors and once in a while feel very slight nausea. I've had these symptoms before when I was suffering anxiety two years ago. But, these symptoms have been sticking with me for quite awhile (read: about a month). I thought they're anxiety related at first, and indeed, the people I've been speaking to (including my doc) think they're anxiety related too, but I'm gonna go to the doc again to have it checked out to make absolutely sure. On a side note, I've landed a part-time job at the Ilikai Hotel as a temporary administrative assistant. Pay's $12.50/hour with medical, vision, and dental benefits. Good stuff. Anime List has been updated! New completes - Maburaho, Mahoromatic, and High School Girls. New current - Mahoromatic Season 2.

July, 2006

Friday, July 7, 2006 - Review for Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu (The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi) posted up in the List.

Tuesday, July 4, 2006 - Happy Fourth of July everyone! Hope y'all get to blow stuff up (preferably of the firecracker variety). I've finished watching Suzumiya and SHUFFLE!. I've posted a HUGE review of Shuffle in the Anime List for you guys to ponder over if you all are considering watching the series. If you want a short synopsis of what I said in the review, here's it is: Watch it. Wanna know why? Then you're invited to read the review. A review of Suzumiya is also in the works - I'll be spending less energy on it, but in no way does that mean this series sucks, cos Suzumiya doesn't!

Monday, July 3, 2006 - I will give you one good reason why Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) rocks. This concert video from the twelfth of fourteen episodes of the series kicked my ass. Really - view it. Forget about the silly bunny or witch outfit the singers are in. Listen to the song, take in the scenery and atmosphere and the brief moment of realism and energy similar to the peak of an awesome best rock concert. Watch as the main character, Haruhi Suzumiya, brings the house down. Just to let you guys know, this series is on its final episode this week, and I'm pretty damn sure another season will be coming out because of its insane popularity. I will also be finishing SHUFFLE! today, and needless to say, this series has got me hooked. I normally dislike dark anime, but the series has gotten me too attached to the characters (and how could it not? it was initially 11-12 episodes of comedy and general craziness) and the sheer reality of the emotions that these characters are going through for me to stop watching after it turned dark. I'm on the 22nd episode - I stopped intentionally at this yesterday because the staggering roller coaster ride of events it put me through kinda "calmed down" at the end of the 21st episode, which gives me a chance to catch my wits before the final 3 episodes finish this series.

Sunday, July 2, 2006 - Following up on yesterday's SHUFFLE! watching. This series is REALLY good - initially looks like harem but gets VERY emotionally realistic as the "harem" part actually starts being subjected with reality (whoda thunk it, eh?) - what happens when five girls who like the main character are forced to deal with the fact only ONE can be chosen? When it comes to "love pentagons" as a character within the series puts it, the main character quickly realizes that when you put your attention and emotions upon one person, you will have to (much to his dismay) hurt the others, no matter how badly you do not want to. A necessary evil in a sense. Kashimashi was very much like this - minus the shoujo-ai aside, the main character was forced to make a decision, since being indecisive about it ended up hurting all three of them. So yeah, a guaranteed minimum 9/10 for SHUFFLE! Watch. Enjoy.

Saturday, July 1, 2006 - Happy Fourth of July in advance everyone. Yeah, still dawdling - more like I didn't bother, but you know, dawdling nonetheless. KoF XI PS2 r0x0rz your b0x0rz, so go get it. While waiting in between episodes of Strawberry Panic and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, I've gotten around to watching SHUFFLE!. The main character actually has a backbone - amazing it is. By the way, if any of you play Star Wars Battlefront II on the Internet, I am =WGO=Talon_Karrde on the Jedi Battle Arena server.

June, 2006

Friday, June 16, 2006 - Less than a week away from the PS2 JP release of King of Fighters: XI! Can't wait to play the old Kyo AND the new Kyo in one team. Yeah, I'm a Kyo fan. Yeah, it's unhealthy. Yeah, stfu. Anyway, got rid of the logo - dawdling around in Paint Shop Pro to see if I can come up with something that doesn't look so crappy. Maybe picture buttons or... something. Maybe I should brush up on my CSS...

Monday, June 5, 2006 - I cut out a lot of the personal crap (including my e-mail address) from my About Me page. People who know me already know a lot of this stuff anyway. Yes, I'm still lacking l33t ph0t0$h0p sk1llz, and hence the reason why my website still looks like crap. I'll probably get rid of the crappy banner sometime soon too. Links to the 2005 and 2004 archive are now at the bottom of this page. Can't wait for KoF XI PS2 to come out later this month!

May, 2006

Friday, May 26, 2006 - It was bothering me that I hadn't updated this site in 11 days (imagine that). I made some changes to the links page since a lot of those links are out of date.

Monday, May 15, 2006 - Back muscles and side ribcage muscles are still messed up from the coughing from before. I'm going to the doc today to see if I can speed up the recovery of these muscles so I can get back to work and more or less get back to, you know, life. For those of you who are Stepmania players and fans of DDR way back during ye olde days, I'd like to recommend you the best version of Brilliant 2U, EVER: Brilliant 2U Hybrid Style. Old, yes, but if you've never heard this or played this before - well - try it! Better than B4U or any other homegrown remix of B2U. List updated with a new anime: High School Girls. Yeah yeah yeah, I hear those snickers. Minor modifications to About Me page.

Tuesday, May 2, 2006 - I just had to write some stuff up in regards to The Anime List for another anime I've come to enjoy: Strawberry Panic. Since The List has been getting updated rather frequently, it's gotten its own little link in the navigation bar to the left and in the main page of this site. Apple news: the new Intel Macs now can run Windows XP seamlessly. I no longer have a reason for my next generation computer to be a PC now, since the whole compatibility issue has been thrown out the window. My next computer WILL be a Mac, and I WILL go back to being the Macintosh evangelist once again. Oh yeah, and some fun Apple ads that poke fun at the crap I have to deal with as a PC user.

April, 2006

Thursday, April 27, 2006 - The Kawaii-Kon was a success, with a Friday participant total that exceeded the combined totals of last year's convention. Got to see the awesome Yoko Ishida in an exclusive K-Kon only concert. Bigger dealer turnout with tons of awesome panels to check out. Unfortunately, I ended up developing a massive flu combined with a bit of bronchitis and a sinus infection after the Kon. I've been seriously messed up physically since then and only recently started to recover (though my throat is so sore right now I can hardly eat anything). New highlight of the Spring 2006 anime season: The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. You know how I love random anime that looks like it has a plotline yet doesn't? This one's it!

Wednesday, April 12, 2006 - 2 days from the 2nd Annual Kawaii Anime Convention, located and held here in Honolulu, Hawaii in the Ala Moana Hotel! Seems like the first one was a hell of a success, so it's only fitting for them to do another one. Here's hoping for a great one this year! The List has been updated with lots of great April 2006 stuff.

Tuesday, April 4, 2006 - Added yet another game to the list of awesome games - Lego Star Wars. Before you go judging a book by its cover, PLAY IT. It's freakin' fun. Also, remember the good old days when King of Fighters had THE most kickass asskicking music? Well it's back in King of FIghters XI. The spirit that once was lost after SNKP's big mistake called KoF 2k3 has returned! Here's a FULL sample 128 kbit mp3 track from the OST for those who are missing out on the music. Fittingly enough, this track is from Kyo's team, as it should be. And yes, this is the OST - it's that good. Get the OST, you won't regret it. Oh yeah, and School Rumble Season 2 is out! Good month for entertainment!

March, 2006

Wednesday, March 29, 2006 - Hahaha, bet you weren't expecting ANOTHER one so soon. Anyway, Hachimitsu to Clover (Honey & Clover) added to The List. Still haven't received my Beatmania Bundle yet, mainly cos someone at Software Etc. seems to constantly be forgetting to pick up a shipment of it from the shipping docks or something. They said tomorrow. They better have it tomorrow, or someone's gonna get smacked upside the head by a IIDX key. About Me page updated with an awesome Star Wars quote and with new "currently playing" games.

Tuessday, March 28, 2006 - ZMG, a weekly update? Yeah, I'm not kiddin' ya. Tomorrow we will get to have our first US version of Beatmania IIDX - I'm getting the bundle for great justice. On top of that, other good games are out/coming out at around this time too... tis a good year for great games! Dynasty Warriors 5: Empires, Final Fantasy XII, Neo Geo Battle Coliseum, King of Fighters Maximum Impact 2. And don't forget everyone, KoF XI for JP PS2 on June 27th. Practice, practice, practice!

Tuesday, March 21, 2006 - Yeah people, I'm still around. Hawaiian Brians (my local arcade here in Hawaii) has King of Fighters XI, and needless to say, it's good. If you fellas from before want to see me for some reason, just head on down there, I've now resolved to go there every weekend, seeing how this game is just that good, and how I enjoy sweeping the trash away from the XI machine. Otherwise, just a few new games: Sengoku Musou 2 (Samurai Warriors 2) and Shin Sangoku Musou 4: Empires (Dynasty Warriors 5 Empires), and most importantly, Yu Gi Oh Duel Monsters Expert 2006 (Yu Gi Oh Ultimate Masters World Championship 2006... or some cheesy name like that). Amazing to see how much the current YGO metagame has evolved - it's ALMOST as good as the JP metagame... almost.

January, 2006

Thursday, January 26, 2006 - Welcome to the New Year. Where we're all a little bit older, but not that much wiser, heh heh. This website has been converted to a Dreamweaver workspace, which should make my editing of this site much, much easier. Otherwise, nothing new. Still playing my three favorite games: PSO Blue Burst, Tetrinet, and Star Wars Battlefront 2. In a month - Star Wars: Empire at War (a.k.a Star Wars-craft). Highlight anime of the month - Kashimashi ~Girl Meets Girl~. Only recently was released in raw format and is being subbed as we speak - funny as heck.
