SECTION B

To be designated "WI," courses must meet the Guidelines for HawCC Writing Intensive Program. Questions l-4 below refer to these guidelines.

  1. Approximately how many pages of writing will your students do by the end of the course? A minimum of 4000 words (the equivalent of l6 typed pages) is required.

  2. Describe briefly the kinds of writing assignments you expect to use in this class. These might include both formal and informal writing assignments, such as journals, learning logs, reaction papers, essays, and research projects. You may attach another sheet to answer this question.

  3. Describe how you will interact with students to help them with their writing. You might include conferences, responding to drafts, group work and/or organizing tutorial sessions.

  4. Explain how and to what extent writing will determine the course grade. Explain how each writing assignment is weighted relative to the total course grade.
