ACCESSING A LAULIMA CLASS

Laulima is the UH System's version of Sakai, an open source course management software package that is used for many online courses. It provides the framework for this online class. You must enter through Laulima to gain access to the class.

Laulima Login

Go to the Laulima login page at http://laulima.hawaii.edu. Click on "Login" in the upper right hand corner of the screen . Your UH email username and password will allow you to enter the Laulima site. Once there, one or more classes for which you have registered will be displayed in the blue bar across the top. Clicking on a course will forward you to the class homepage. It is that simple. However, if this doesn't work for you, you probably need help.

Dealing with Laulima Technical Difficulties

Use a recommended browser for Laulima.
Most browsers should work but Firefox has been found to be the most compatible. If you use Internet Explorer 8 or later, you must use it in "compatibility view," otherwise you may experience problems. Please note that the Safari browser that comes standard on a Macinstosh does have intermittent (and unpredictable) problems with Laulima content

Do you require futher assistance?
Additional help for Laulima is available on othe login page. Select the tab "Student Help". For more specific help with one or more issues, contact the UH System Laulima support by selecting "Request Assistance" in the menu on the left of the login page. Be sure to provide all of the requested information and describe in detail what is happening (or not happening). You should receive a response within 24 hours. If you get no resolution through the Laulima support network, please contact the instructor as soon as possible by phone at a time when you can be in front of your computer.
