Research interests:

Leadership & technology - complex relationship between leaders and followers and the mediating role of technology can be considered through a vast array of theoretical frameworks. By drawing on research conducted in management information systems, leadership and organizational communication I hope to identify factors that influence leadership effectiveness and leadership perception and to articulate environmental conditions (human, physical and organizational) that will enhance leadership effectiveness in terms of achieving overall organizational goals.

Organizational communication - achieving organizational goals is dependent as much on effective organizational communication as it is on comprehensive strategy development and overall organizational excellence. In fact, many believe that organizational excellence is defined - at least in part - by the extent to which effective multilateral communication occurs. Just how organizational communication (formal and informal) affects employee relationships comprises an important part of my research stream. The impact of communication on leadership effective and follower motivation if of particular interest, as is the mediating role of information and communication technologies (ICTs).

Technology implementation & organizational relationships - although popular press would have us believe that technology advances have paved the path for global organizational success, the effects of technology implementation have been mixed. I hope to investigate how organizational relationships (both inside and outside the firm) influence the effectiveness of technology adoption in terms of leadership and organizational relationships as well as through the process of organizational communication.
