"We didn't start the fire, it was always burning since the world's been turning." ok, i took a long break because, well i broke the computers. not really...i temporarily disabled one of them and i couldn't make the other one work right. but now this one's okie but for some bizzare reason dave's isn't working too well. whenever it di als, it immediatly disconnects. it's pretty suckfull. brother is doing pretty well i think. he sent two letters his first week in washington but hasn't sent anymore since then so maybe he's found something to do. he said he applied for a job at a chinese restaurant, hopefully he'll get it beecause well, he needs money. everyone needs money. yes, we all do. school has started for the spring and it is pretty school like. i think my classes are pretty good except for physics which strangely was the only science class i liked in high school and also the only one i didn't almost fail. physics at UH really suck s because not only do you have lecture for one hour twice a week but you have "discussion group" for 1:15 once a week where you do hideous math things AND thanks to the lovely COE i have lab for 4 hours once a week. all i get for all that time is 3 credi ts plus one lab credit. credit hours my ass. now is the time on popo's page where we complain about the UH parking people. see my first day of school this week, the shuttle decided it was going to come 15 minutes early so i had to go pick up my mom and have her drop me off. she drove past the guar d shack and dropped me off. i told her, if they try to stop you on your way out just ignore them. i figured it wouldn't be a problem considering how well she had ignored the guard trying to stop us on the way in. but no, i later found out that the frea king guard STEPPED in FRONT of her truck on her way out and lectured her about having to stop and pay even if she's just dropping someone off. it's like this...i try to avoid ever stopping and paying the guards when i'm going to drop off/pick up. yes, you get a refund if you leave within 15 minutes but the whole hassle of having to wait in line, be harassed by the guard about where you're going , having to wait again to get your 3 bucks back. frankly, i have better things to do then wait around for a bunch of hired parking monkies HPD wanna bes to figure out how to count back change for a 5. well, popo, what's the big deal? it doesn't really take that long and after all they're only doing their job of preventing people from parking without paying. okie well, because the fact is, they're just being lazy. you get a ticket if you're parked without a pass or in the wrong section, etc etc. so, if you wanna risk getting a ticket then you should be able to do that. if the lazy guards would do their job and walk around and check the parked cars and ticket the violators then it wouldn't matter if people drive thru without paying. if they're just gonna pick someone up and drive out then they don't pose a threat to the already overcrowded parking situatio n and if they're gonna try be sneaky and park without paying then they'll get a ticket. it's just like paying the meter. you don't have to do it but if you don't you risk getting fined and/or towed. i think the guards, aside from their unfulfilled wishes of being real cops, are just lazy over paid freaks who use their "position" to harass innocent people to make themselves feel better about their low weight on the importance scale. i mean, have you seen their patrol vehicles with the "in case of emergency dial 66911?" sheyah....like i'm gonna trust campus security with my problems...all they can do is log it in their book and call the REAL police and let them handle it. "Campus security? yah, someone stole the deck out of my car, can you help me?" uh...just a minute (flips thru regulations manual) yah, um let me record this in the log "What? Shouldn't you come down and fingerprint my car and stuff?" well, um, actually the manual only covers beginning addition and sentence construction. "WHAT!? nevermind, i'll just call the REAL police!" this has been a presentation of the Popo Brodcasting Network.
