"I'll be the shelter in your rain."

I'm back! From my trip and from my short hiatus from my web page. I'm still working on it, I've been working on it all day but I wanna go make some cookies or paint my nails or something so I'll have to work on it again some other day. I finished updating my Random and Exciting Daily Pic! and I changed all my journal indexes. I still haven't put up the rest of December 02's entries, but I'll do that another day.

I don't have much to say right now, there's been lots going on and there's still lots going on. Good stuff and bad stuff, as usual. My daa is visiting and his gf arrives today. I'm just waiting for him to give me a call, we'll probably grab dinner together or something.

The car blew up. Actually it just stopped working but that doesn't sound too interesting, so I prefer blew up. We're looking for another car but will most likely get the mitsu station wagon that jimmy the mechanic is repairing. Is not my first choice of cars but it's not bad and it will do just fine until I get a job or something. Having to only use one car is kind of hard though, especially since it's my mom's gas eating amigo. I really am not fond of that car but I'm not a fool enough to complain too much about it, considering my situation.

My great grandma died two days after Christmas. She's been sick for a long time, having suffered a series of strokes. I haven't seen her since my brother's graduation, at least I'm pretty sure that's the last time I saw her. That was back in 94. My mom is trying to get a flight out to FAT to attend the memorial service. I'm not very familiar with that side of the family (my grandpa's side) and I am not very fond of my mom's uncle, so I'll be staying here at home. Besides, school starts on Monday and I have to go explain to the teacher why my mom's not there.

School doesn't really start on Monday but outreach college night classes do. I'm taking two classes there, one with my mom. I think she's gonna skip class a lot and make me take notes for her. I guess that's ok, I usually go to school everyday, especially when there's an accelerated semester like in summer school. These classes are 8 weeks long, two weeks longer than summer school but half the time of regular semesters. The regular semester starts on the 16th or something. I'll be taking one or two classes, depending on my grades for this past semester which will be out on Friday. I'm not feeling especially optimistic so I already signed up for a make up class.

My house is a mess. Not as big a mess as it was when I left (most of which was my fault) but still pretty bad. I'll be working on it these next few days because I think my dad wanted my grandma to stay here one night. She's arriving on Monday, I think. Also one of my resolutions this year is to keep the house cleaner.

Speaking of resolutions, this wouldn't be the January first entry without a discussion of resolutions. This year my goals are: Keep the house cleaner, exercise daily, keep in touch with my friends more, and I think that's about it.

Let's see how I did with last year's resolutions. Last year I resolved to keep in touch with my friends better, be healthier and graduate from college. I did not graduate from college but I will in May so I'm just five months late on that. I did make significant progress towards graduating though so I'm not calling that one a complete failure. I sort of stayed in touch better, but not really. I recontacted a few people that I had lost contact with and I lost contact with a few people but that's how it goes. I didn't keep in touch nearly as much as I would have liked but that's not all my fault, everyone's really busy! I would give this resolution a 25% success rating. The be healthier one was really an open sort of goal which I would say I did accomplish. I didn't lose as much weight as I wanted but I'm not done yet. I did exercise almost regularly and I did lose 20 pounds. I made a real effort to eat better and not eat too much fast food. I put much more thought into my health than before so I would say I definitely was healthier.

Who knows what this new year will hold? I have some ideas in mind and I have my usual hopes and goals. I know this will be an exciting year and hopefully I'll be able to keep up. We'll check back on the resolutions same time next year.

To my loyal readers whom I'm pretty sure are just two or three of my friends (hehe) thanks for your continued interest and prodding when I fall behind on entries. Believe it or not this new journal book is the 6th book in my online journaling saga. I hope to continue spreading the unique joy that is my life.

That really sounded better in my head.
